About the project

When Brooklyn Brothers approached us about the possibility of creating a site to raise money and awareness for Haiti, we jumped at the chance to do our bit.

The chosen charity was the AAPKI Foundation which builds long term housing for women and children. Please see www.tohaitiwithlove.co.uk for more information on this worthy cause.

Brooklyn Brothers used their contacts in the art world to collect digital donations of art work which we then used to create digital postcards. Users are able to send the postcards to friends to raise awareness of the Haiti earthquake, with the "postage" being a donation to the AAPKI foundation.

The concept is to raise money and awareness for Haiti so postcards are presented anonymously until the user has posted the card. To avoid hierarchies we chose to display a random selection of images on the home page which the user can refresh or elect to expand to view all the work.

Developed during our spare time, the site design was kept simple and created in-house. PHP was used to rapidly develop the site and Paypal integration handled the money side of things.
